Her name is Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson, and she was born on April 15, 1990, in Paris. Jacqueline Luesby and Chris Watson, both British lawyers, are her parents. Alex was born three years after his sister. Watson’s parents divorced when she was 5, and she and her mother and brother returned to Oxfordshire in England.
Watson studied acting at Oxford’s Stagecoach Theater Arts Institute. She took acting, singing, and dancing classes and performed in plays throughout high school. The high school equivalency exams were a breeze for Watson, who aced them all. She missed a year of school while filming the final two Harry Potter films and remained steadfast in her goal to finish high school.

Hermione Granger was a role model for Watson as an adolescent, but the young actress wanted to be seen as something more. Ballet Shoes, by Noel Streatfeild, was her second film based on a children’s book. Watson starred in the movie, which aired on BBC One and received positive reviews. Princess Pea in The Tale of Despereaux was her first foray into animated work in 2008.
