Wedding planning can be an overwhelming task, but it doesn’t have to be. You just need a little creativity and the right guidance. First, figure out your values and the things you want to prioritize for your wedding. What do you care about most? Is it the venue, caterer, photographer, or gift registry? Once you have this straightened out, then it’ll be easier to make decisions about other things.

Think About Your Style

Before setting out to choose vendors, think about the style you want for your wedding. Consider the type of fun you want to have and the vibe you want to convey. That will help you decide on the team you want to work with on your big day. Also, think about how formal or casual you want your wedding to be. As a general rule of thumb, if you are going for a formal event, think white tuxedo, or black suit, and opt for formal vendors. Think about this stuff and make notes to better prepare for your big day.

Keep in Mind Your Day’s Timeline

This is important to keep in mind in order to make decisions on your wedding day that are best for your family and friends. Think about how quickly things will be happening during the wedding day and try to figure out what’s going to be happening and when. If you’re having a pre-wedding brunch, you’ll want to decide who’s going to set up, what time they’ll arrive, etc. You’ll also want to know how much time you’ll have after brunch to set up before the ceremony starts. It’s easy to get caught up in the moment and miss out on important details. However, with a good wedding timeline, you won’t stress on your big day.

Make the Most of Your Budget

Most couples tend to spend about 20 percent of their total budget on the venue. When deciding on a wedding venue, check if what they are offering fits the wedding’s theme. For example, if you want a black-and-white theme, make sure the venue fits that style as well. If it’s not something you can control, don’t fret. A lot of times this is overlooked anyways. If you have other small expenses during the planning process, make sure to budget for them as well. You don’t want to find out you have a $15,000 wedding budget but your baker wants $3,000 to make your cake.

Think Outside the Box

One of the most important aspects of planning your wedding is getting creative. You don’t have to go with the trend when planning your wedding day. Take a moment to think outside the box. Doing this will help you come up with something exciting that suits your style and personality. For example, if your entire wedding is centered around a rustic theme, why not consider having a photo booth made out of an actual wooden barn? Or if you are having a more elegant formal affair, you can get creative with napkin-folding stations for your guests. The possibilities are endless.

Do Your Research

In order to make the right decisions, you’ll need to do your research. Doing this will help you make decisions about everything. From colors to place cards, you are more likely to get the best of everything when you research. Also, ensure the choices you make match what you want on your special day. You can find most information online nowadays. If you live in a big city there are probably plenty of places selling affordable wedding supplies, and accessories such as a unique rose gold men’s wedding band to buy for your husband. If not, a simple search online will lead you in the right direction. Once you find sites that interest you, do some research and make sure they meet your needs, as well as your budget. Also, look at their ratings and reviews to see what other clients have to say about them.

Be Clear With Vendors

Typically, wedding planning begins before vendors are involved in the process. You need to be clear with the people you want to work with. Before reaching out to potential vendors, it’s a good idea to write up a list of questions you need to be answered and also include what’s important to you. Doing this ensures everything runs smoothly making your day a success.

Make a Grand Entrance

No matter which way you arrive at the venue, you want to make an unforgettable entrance. You can do this in many ways. You can have your transportation guided by a brass band playing lively music or have a horse-drawn carriage with an elegant flower-covered car. The options are limitless. If it’s within your budget, you can create a firework-filled entrance for your guests. Be sure to budget for everything appropriately to avoid going over your budget.

Consider the Venue

Plan everything with your venue in mind. Most venues will provide personnel to help with your event. Some places may have cocktail-making facilities that can include everything from champagne to beer and wine. Others have bars with craft beer taps and maybe even a food truck for brides and grooms to load up on grub. Don’t forget to take into account how far the venue is going to be from your ceremony and reception sites so you can plan accordingly.

Have a Backup Plan

Just in case things don’t go according to plan or something unforeseen happens, a backup plan will come in handy. For example, if you’re having the reception at a venue where they serve food and provide bartenders, you can organize to have an extra bartender. This is important in case something happens to one of the bartenders. The same can be done with food service.

Conclusion

Weddings can be stressful. Before you begin the planning process, make sure you’re ready to handle everything that is thrown your way. That way when the big day comes, you won’t stress about anything and will have a great time with your family and friends.
